When you catch a pokemon in Pokemon Go it brings up the catch screen, showing different elements of the catch and how much xp you get for them. Here’s the Korean version and the translation!
포켓몬 잡기
포켓몬 is just pokemon written in 한글.
잡기 is the verb 잡다, meaning ‘to catch’ -기 is added to the end of a verb stem to turn it into a noun, so more along the lines of ‘catching’.
This phrase is ‘pokemon catching’ and then shows the amount of experience gained from catching the pokemon.
커브볼
This is Konglish, again! 커브 is ‘curve’ and 볼 is ‘ball’. So…curveball! In Pokemon Go you have the option to throw curveballs which get you extra xp.
원샷
This is Konglish, again.
원 = one
샷 = shot
If you catch the pokemon in one throw (one shot) you get extra experience.
