엉뚱하다 = to defy logic, be random, erratic, unpredictable

If you search for the word Google will tell you that it means erratic. This is right, but erratic carries a sort of….psychotic negative connotation with it. 엉뚱하다 has a more broad, conceptual meaning.

Something or someone that is 엉뚱하다 behaves in unexpected ways but it’s endearing and cute. Like you never quite know what they’re going to do and it’s interesting.

Like the Grim Reaper from the drama Goblin.
